About me
Hi there, I’m Clare Green and I’m a mixed media artist based in Auckland, New Zealand.
I have been drawing my whole life, starting out with a pen or pencil in hand as a toddler and my canvas being the walls and the family photo albums. Sorry Mum!
As an adult I have studied art through numerous short courses both locally and online. I also have a Certificate in Floristy Design which has complemented my art practice. However, it wasn’t until about five years ago that I decided it was time to take my art practice to the next level and I attended local drawing classes which developed my technical skills and in turn improved my painting techniques.
I work with a variety of media depending on the subject, the effect and the feel that I’m hoping to achieve. I love to create both realistic and semi abstract work with my goal being to capture beautiful things, nostalgic moments and sparks of joy.
I also work in the not-for-profit sector as a Community Services Manager, this work has enriched my life and helps me to appreciate and find joy in the simple things in life. I especially love nature, our local seascapes, parks and gardens. There is an abundance of beautiful subjects and moments to capture through pencil or paint.
